The pin hole camera is the simplest camera based on the camera obscura. It works by covering a can with black tape in order to make sure the inside of the can is completely black, after you have assured there is not light entering the can, simply make a pin size hole in the side of the can with a flap over it. You then insert photogenic paper inside and open the flap towards the image you want for roughly three seconds but it varies depending on the amount of light that is entering. After you develop your print in the dark room you should be left with a print of the scene you exposed the paper to. Below is an image of our pinhole camera and the images we captured from it.
